Prime Electric is the premier Electrical Contractor in the Puget Sound Region and is searching for the right candidate to join our team as an Electrical Estimator. This is an excellent opportunity to join a solid team with room for growth and development.

This is an immediate full‐time opening.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Successful candidates are expected to possess the following skills:

  • Primary focus is fully coordinated electrical and low voltage systems estimating,
  • Ability to work independently under the direction of Senior Estimators or designated project lead.
  • Support of estimating process and systems training for junior estimators and interns as necessary
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and clearly communicate estimated scope of work
  • Developing project take-offs, and equipment counts based upon the specifications and drawings
  • Contribute to and support value engineering exercises
  • Contribute to scope letter content.
  • Participate in Estimating team and review meetings and clearly define your estimate work product.
  • Post Award: kick off meeting, progress meetings, close-out/lessons learned

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • At least 4-5 years of electrical estimating experience in commercial, industrial, high-tech, vertical residential and health care industries.
  • Experience with preparing, completing, explaining, and reviewing complex estimates with Chief Estimator.
  • Experience with delivery models: Plan & Spec, Design-Assist, and Design-Build.
  • Knowledgeable and competent at thoroughly evaluating and estimating VE solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to support the training and development of junior estimator or other PRIME employees on our estimating procedures.
  • Knowledge of Accubid and Live Count Estimating System.
  • Experience with coordinating and able to demonstrate understanding of the relationships between civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, etc. documents and their impact on electrical scope
  • Quick learner to grasp existing estimating process and procedures.
  • Experience with the appropriate application of database materials and assemblies to individual estimates.
  • PRIME is a fast-paced environment and a strong work ethic is required.
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Able to review BOM of subcontractors, suppliers, and material quotes. Determine completeness, compliance with bid documents and make recommendation to management.
  • Knowledge of NEC, local codes and construction methods.
